How can i overclock my intel cpu - e4600 2.4 ghz ? I cannot overclock it from the bios- intel motherboard?
there is no option for overclocking it in the bios as i have intel motherboard. Please tell me a software which i can use to overclock it.
I had a similar problem as you for quite a while - a crappy Asus board, and an Intel e4400 which I wanted to overclock.
I'd tried many programs, and I finally found one that worked (took me one hour to set it up), only to get the speed up to 2.15GHz (from the default 2GHz) which really wasn't worth it considering the PC gave me a blue screen 15 minutes later.
Now... I'm not even gonna mention this program, as it's really not worth all the trouble. Truth is... If you're not willing to spend any money, you won't be overclocking the CPU, sadly.
If you are willing to spend some money on this, and you think you got the skills (or you know somebody who does) to upgrade your computer yourself, then read on.
This is how I got my CPU overclocked for a pretty manageable price (excluding the case, but I bought that for future upgrades as well). First, there was the motherboard and a new cooler to match:

The total cost of this would be about $80.
Then came the case. Once again, I picked a really expensive one, but you could pick any case that has proper cooling and that supports full ATX form factor motherboards.

Don't forget an anti-static wristband from a local computer shop either - you don't want to end up frying your own parts because you were holding a static charge.
This setup got my CPU up to an astounding 3GHz (from 2GHz!), and the maximum temperature never exceeds 60 degrees Celsius. However, the case I got has very good cooling so that undoubtedly helps too.
I'm aware that there's some bad reviews for the motherboard I chose on Newegg, but it's been running just fine here for over 6 months now, including overclocked CPU and video card. The onboard sound kicks ass too, as odd as that may be. Cooler installation may take a while to get right, but it'll work out eventually.
Now... If you want to use the cooler I talked about before, be sure to do the following: scrape off the old cooling paste using something like cotton swabs, then apply the stuff included with the cooler! I forgot to do this the first time, and my temperatures hit 75 degrees Celsius, which is not good at all. With the included paste in place though, it never exceeds 60 degrees Celsius.
